Last week my brother and I were experimenting our new backdrop. Initially, I thought the backdrop was small because I never imagine it’s going to be like “the real studio”. But it’s proven that I was totally wrong when the backdrop is actually huge! Well, five to six or even seven people can fit in I reckon. It is almost like a photography studio. It’s portable and easy to be carried everywhere you go (of course you need a vehicle, at least a car to keep this stuff). Unfortunately, I forgot to take “behind the scene” photo how the backdrop looks like. Maybe I’ll post it later when we have another photo session with proper lighting and stuff.
Oh yes, speaking about lighting, we also tried a few new stuff that we never done it before, like the photo above. Considering we have no lighting equipments such as brolly and softbox, we merely used a flashgun as a source to create light. I just realized Nikon SB-800 can actually be fired wirelessly without using a remote but just using a popup flash on the camera as a commander. And that picture above was created using that technique by placing the flash a bit lower with black backdrop at the back as a background. I tried using my Canon 40D’s popup flash to command SB-800 to see whether or not it’s working. It did fire but create different results. Not the kind of result we expected. Credit to my brother for the picture. Finally, I got this kind of photo which I always wanted long time ago haha. Need to learn more about lighting and stuff as I am totally zero about it.
Love,
Faris
