Head Spinning Around

Tomorrow I have got an appointment with Cityside NINO Jobcentre Plus Office regarding my National Insurance Number (NI). This will be a challenge for me because the office is located in London and since I came here in May 2007 until now, I think I merely went down to Central London less than 10 times if I’m not mistaken. What a shame. But yeah, that’s the truth. Luckily, the interview starts at 15:00, so I have got plenty time to figure out how to get there. All documentations are ready I reckon. There’s nothing much to prepare actually as long as I bring those what mentioned in the letter. I’m not sure whether or not I’m going to the office tomorrow because I have informed my boss last week about my tomorrow’s interview. In my head now, 70% stay at home, 30% go to work hahaha. We’ll see later if the thinking change.

This week is another idle week hahaha. In other words, I have done nothing but sitting in front of my PC and surfing the net. In fact, I was over slept. What a bad habit. But that always comes to my mind during weekend. It’s like my head has been set up to be lazy over the weekend. This is something I’m working out now. It is totally different what I usually do back in Malaysia. I have badminton session at least 3 days a week. I go for a jog. Go out and take photos. I do lots of stuff I reckon. Unlike here, I become lazy. I don’t know why. Is it because of the weather? Can’t blame the weather though. Think I should start listing down what to do every weekend so that I won’t waste it just like that. Maybe something like, this week cleaning and tidy up my room, next week plan for a trip to somewhere for some photos opportunity. That would be more organized I reckon. Plan something ahead is always good. Anyway, it’s been a while I didn’t take photos. I miss it so much. Can’t remember what time it was, but I took the photo (above) as soon as I saw the sun shined and it was a lovely day. You don’t have to wait for summer for a great photo actually. It still can be done in any season if you’re always ready.

Okay, here we go again with photo editing and stuff. As a matter of fact, I have been questioning myself for a long time how did people do HDR (High Dynamic Range) editing. And until now, I’m still lost, looking for bloody tutorials. All of a sudden, this came accross my head when I was doing some editing on Photoshop. I remember a friend told me about one method of photo processing. So, I tried it once again but this time to be more creative, I applied a few things to make it different from what I’ve done so far. I don’t know what kind of editing this is called but I enjoyed doing it. I know it looks so fantasy but that is the intention. When I showed it to my friends, some even said it looks like cartoon. Well, I was just playing around with photoshop. Just to know what does each tool in Photoshop do. You won’t know if you don’t try, will you? Now, you can see how different it is between original and edited photos. Nevertheless, I like it both either original or edited.

Love,

Faris

May 7, 2008 - 4:12 pm Faris - Hello Aeridest, Thanks very much ;-) No, those are not HDR. To be honest with you, I would love to learn to create HDR images!! Haha. Just use my own creativity to "manipulate" the images to look as HDR :P Apparently, people thought it's HDR photos. ;-) :P But if they really look like it, I'm glad :P Thanks a lot for dropping by anyway.

May 7, 2008 - 2:14 pm aeridest - hey faris. nice page u have. just wondering how u create the nice looking portraiture. HDR? rgds

December 15, 2007 - 2:28 pm ImamKhalid - Owh, I see.. :)

December 13, 2007 - 8:38 pm Faris - I'm sorry Imam. I won't be able to do that due to my lack of knowledge on HDR editing. I wish I knew how to do it. But there are loads of tutorials on the net if you want to learn. Those editing above aren't HDR editing. They are just my own editing. Some sort of trial and error editing. Not sure what kind of editing is it :)

December 13, 2007 - 5:54 pm ImamKhalid - Wow that's amazing. Can you please tell me how to do it in PS? Or at least just gimme some hint on HDR (High Dynamic Range) editing... :P

December 7, 2007 - 10:17 pm Faris - No, I'm just doing it part time. I'd love to go full time if there's any chances. As for now, I'm just taking photos for fun. Used to be wedding photographer back in Malaysia.

December 7, 2007 - 4:05 pm nono - You are always welcome. Anytime. Ehehhehehe.. :) Just curious, are you a full time photographer?

December 6, 2007 - 7:58 pm Faris - Salam Nono! Thank you sooo much for your kind words. I really appreciate it. Yes, without face treatment I must say hehe. Thanks Nono!

December 6, 2007 - 3:39 pm nono - Salam Faris! :) Nice editing! Especially for the smoothing the faces one. Without face treatment eh? Hahaha lol! So so so nice.. Really. :)

December 6, 2007 - 11:01 am edwin masripan - Very true Fariz. I've tried PS-ting my photos. Well its addictive! Sometimes I prioritize my personal photos more than the job. I dont own a good camera. Not that I hate photography, but I hate that I wont be in the picture. sayang kan? Capturing all the moments FOR OTHERS. diri sendiri takde. kalau suruh orang pon, org bukan reti sgt. Sad but true.

December 5, 2007 - 10:04 pm Faris - Oh well, I've been blessed with the Photoshop knowledge, thank goodness. Hopefully I'm getting better day by day. You should try Edwin. It's fun. I bet you'll be addicted to it. Yea, I used to think like yours as well. Then, every single person in this world is nothing but perfect ;) Is it the latest edition of Digital Photography mag? Haven't read that one. I'm not worried about it as long as I get my job done haha.

December 5, 2007 - 9:15 pm edwin masripan - You called this no good? Oh man you gotta learn to appreciate your skills! I never tried smoothing the faces before. Maybe one day. If only we could really smoothen everything (in real world) using PS, it'll be awesome. Newsweek wrote about PS in digital photography. Well, they were quite upset about it. Who cares? LoL

December 5, 2007 - 9:06 pm Faris - Awww, don't tell me you're so jealous Edwin??? Hahaha. Just kidding. By the way, I'm not that good in editing though. Was just trying out some tools in PS. Glad to know it looks good on second thought :P

December 5, 2007 - 7:12 am edwin masripan - that is just unfair! You cant use photoshop to modify your picture! on second thought... it does look good. Oh well..

December 4, 2007 - 5:08 am Fitri Shukri - Faris, I think the first edited photo (girl in yellow tudung), her 'pipi' is 'overcleaned' to the point that I think ordinary audience will notice it.
