After all the hard work over the weekend, I must say my brother and I and the rest of the “crew members” did pretty good job clearing and cleaning up the mess. Nonetheless, there are more to finish off! It was unbelievable how massive the things were. We started off last Friday by moving small stuff first then moved on to big, massive one. The hardest part was to move out the washing machine from its place. Only God knows how heavy the machine was. It took three “strong” people (including me) to remove it.
I must say last weekend was fully dedicated to settle every single thing but unfortunately we were unable to finish off on the last day which is on Sunday and because of that, we have to request for an extended days to be able to get things done. Having said that, we (the crew members) are so keen to continue the job on Monday night although it is weekdays but apparently my brother and I (the most important people) got sick! We thought we were strong enough to stand the dust but we were wrong. Both of us got cold and flu. So sadly to say we have to give this job a rain check since there’s no other appropriate candidates to take care of the job at the moment.
Personally, I reckon things will be a lot easier if everything is well organized in terms of putting stuff together like DVDs, books, magazines, toys and such. At least you don’t have to pick things every single corner in the house. The job could be done a lot faster too. To be honest, I was not organized too until I realized how important that is in our life. Now I started to train myself to be at least a bit organized than before in terms of sorting out my stuff especially documentations like paper works, salary slips and letters. It is not easy in the beginning but I believe it gets better when I’m used to it and hopefully later on it becomes my regular routine.
Anyway, back to moving to a new place story. Alhamdulillah, so far we have reached to the end of it and hopefully we will complete it this week insya’Allah. It is a big accomplishment to clear up the house within three days in a row even though it is not 100%. Tonight my brother and I are going to continue working again after one day break. I’m just hoping tonight is going to be the last night for us.
