Wow this couple of days have been very busy for me. I have been clicking here and there for my business portfolio. Plus, most of the days this week were absolutely beautiful. No words can describe how happy I am to see the sunlight up in the sky. It changes the mood and people’s behaviour as well you know. If the day is dark and gloomy, you feel lazy and depress. Oh well, I’m not expecting the sunshine everyday but it does make people happy at least for a little moment. Spend a little time outside sitting on the grass, taking photos, having a chit chat. I’m loving it!

In fact, if I’m not mistaken today is officially the first day of spring. I have a feeling that summer this year is going to be “summer”. Not like last year where summer was not that warm enough. Even the weather this week was not that bad. Therefore, I went out again for an outdoor portraiture session with Maisarah. This is also part of my projects where I am currently developing as many portfolios as I can while I’m still here. Also, there will be honeymoon & wedding photography coming up soon in early April & May if the clients confirmed to hire me. Will talk about it later once everything is certain. Yesterday I had an opportunity to shoot an outdoor portraiture of Yusrina, my colleague. I just realized how difficult to conduct or direct a model. It could be easier with family members and friends but when you are dealing with a total stranger, it would create an awkward kind of feeling. Even Yusrina was a bit shy at first when I asked her to pose for me. From there, I learned that it is very important to keep the communication between you and your model constantly so that he or she feels comfortable being in front of your camera.

I reckon yesterday was also the best day so far in year 2009. The weather was perfect. It was very warm and the sun shined brightly. It was almost like a summer. If only I could go to another places to find more spots for photos, it would be more interesting. We had this photoshoot during lunch hour & after work so, it was a bit rushing. Nevertheless, I’m glad because the photos turned out quite nice.

I will be continuing shooting weddings, outdoor portraiture, lifestyle and many more when I come home sometime in May this year. Sometimes when I see other photos whether in the magazines or on the net, it seems very easy to say “I can do that as well” but when you’re at the real location, you just don’t know what to do. You have to think as quick as you can but creatively. It always becomes my favourite to add a little bit of the environment if I shoot outdoor portraiture. Personally, I reckon it gives more impact to the photos. Now, I begin to learn a lot more how to play around with anything around me.

I try to vary my shots by going wide and close up. Get different angles and most importantly, play with composition. I think I know now that my weakness point and need to give more focus is composition because everytime I want to shoot, it becomes difficult where should I place the subject to fit with the background or whatever that will appear in the frame.

I tried to occupy my brain with something else while walking to prevent the freezing cold from hitting me psychologically. It was very hard to walk when it’s cold and windy. So, I put my iPod on and listened to the songs on my favourite list. At least I did not think too much about the cold.

As a matter of fact, I do not know what I am talking about. I was trying to write about something else but it turned out differently. Okay, no more nonsense. Let me get straight to the point. I was going to say I went out with my lovely to the park somewhere in Hampstead. Prior to that, we went for lunch just around the corner and considering the day was so lovely, we thought it would be nice to go to the nearest park and took some photos.

And that’s it. I could not believe I spent almost an hour just to write this bloody entry. I should get some sleep now. Too tired to think. Anyway, thank you so much for tuning in. Hope you enjoy your stay.

P.S : Owh, by the way I was actually testing out my new lense 85mm f/1.8. Super duper cool!
