My friends and I recently took a trip to Koh Lipe, Thailand. It was an amazing experience regardless the weather condition to say the least. I could imagine if the weather was bright and shining, it would have been extremely wonderful. That did not happen until the last day before we left. You can see the photos look different towards the end.

However, we enjoyed our 4D3N stay at Bundhaya Resort. Customer service was fantastic. The food? Damn I would come back for that. There were 2 places we went everyday for snacking and coffee. I don’t remember the name of these places but they make great Brazilian coffee and Nutella bread. Look for that if you’re there.

Don’t forget to make your way to sunrise and sunset beach or if you’re staying on that side of the island, it should be in front of you lol. Amazing view and photo opportunity. All in all, I would come back to Koh Lipe for many reasons with hope that the weather will be kind to me in the next visit.

For photographers, this set was shot on Contax 645 + Pro 400H and Nikon F6 + Superia Xtra 400 and Tudorcolor XLX 200.

Dahlia’s Maternity Session

It’s been a while since my last maternity shoot. Had an amazing session with mom-to-be, Dahlia who is going to give birth anytime soon. All the best to you and the baby! To Kamal (the husband), if you’re in the labour room with Dahlia, do not black out LOL.

For this session I used 3 different types of film. On Contax, the usual Pro 400H. On Nikon F6, I loaded Tudorcolor XLX 200 and Kodak T-Max 400 for black and white images.

Want to be in front of my camera? Drop me a line!

Syawal 1434

s1 s2 s3s4s6s5s8s7s9 s10 s13 s14 s15 s16 s17

I hope it’s not too late to post some photos from Eid considering today is the last day of Syawal. I have been wanting to post it a while ago but this is what happens when you let procrastination takes control. It’s really really bad.

I would like to share the importance of personal work. There’s no other way to be better but practice, practice and practice. You need to go out there, explore the world and be inspired. When you always sharpen your skills, you are able to see things clearer. Background, lights, trees, people, details, exposure, composition and more. I sacrificed tons of film just to experiment and see what will happen if I do this and that. Indeed, it costs you a little but consider that as an investment for your personal skill development (at least that’s what I told my wife, I think she bought it). As you go along, there will be more and more to learn. Be more alert to things around you.

This set was captured on Fuji Pro 400H.

Contax 645

After a long wait, my cadillac is finally here, the amazing Contax 645 with Planar 80mm f/2. Frankly speaking, it is like a dream. It is not easy to find this beast nowadays considering everyone who’s in film photography would like to own one. I must say there are a lot of things to learn with Contax 645. There configuration is pretty much the same but to get the hang of it probably takes a while. All images above were taken on Fuji Pro 400H.
