Forever Love

c1 c2 c3

I think my love-hate relationship with Contax 645 is getting better and better. My first 10 rolls were horrible. 80% of my photographs were out of focus. Probably not used to manual focus and lack of ability to judge which part is in or out of focus but like the say, practice makes perfect. The more you shoot, the better you become.

Basically, there’s no way you can become better than yesterday but to constantly go out and shoot. That way you will gain the ability to understand your camera better, composition, exposure and many other things. So, don’t just sit and wait for the photographs to amaze you. Go create one!

My sister and her husband Amin were in the neighbourhood last weekend and I thought why not a couple of shots since they both were nicely dressed.

A family session with Farhana, son and co. last Saturday at The Maple Condominium. Farhana’s son, Yusuf just turned one. Happy Birthday Yusuf :-)

I kind of love the vividness of Superia Xtra 400.

Syawal 1434

I hope it’s not too late to post some photos from Eid considering today is the last day of Syawal. I have been wanting to post it a while ago but this is what happens when you let procrastination takes control. It’s really really bad.

I would like to share the importance of personal work. There’s no other way to be better but practice, practice and practice. You need to go out there, explore the world and be inspired. When you always sharpen your skills, you are able to see things clearer. Background, lights, trees, people, details, exposure, composition and more. I sacrificed tons of film just to experiment and see what will happen if I do this and that. Indeed, it costs you a little but consider that as an investment for your personal skill development (at least that’s what I told my wife, I think she bought it). As you go along, there will be more and more to learn.┬áBe more alert to things around you.

This set was captured on Fuji Pro 400H.

Nadia & Amin / Pre-Wedding

It was a challenge session for me because this was impromptu. A sudden request after I have just finished all my films and considering it was 4 Syawal, not many shops opened and I had to drive all through the town to find whatever available films. Fortunately I found Superia 200 but then the sky was getting dark when we got to the location. It was alright but I was shooting at a very minimum speed, hand held (average speed was 1/30-1/60). Gotta be as sturdy as tripod and man, it was not easy at all.

Tested out Tudorcolor XLX 200 for the 2nd time during Aidilfitri open house at in law’s place last week. The look is pretty much similar to Fuji and I kind of love it. Now I have 20 rolls of Tudor to finish. We shall see.
